Two new ghosts will be available as Bug-Eye, and Fearsome Flush make their return to pegs. The original Ecto-1 was converted by the Miller-Meteor at the companys Piqua, Ohio, plant and featured the large and beautifully styled tail fins of the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado. Kids can imagine eerie encounters with The Real Ghostbusters ghosts toys as it showcases fun action features, including cyclops eye-popping action from Bug-Eye and rolling action to reveal a fearsome ghost inside from Fearsome Flush.

#THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS ECTO 1 UPGRADE#
If you were a fan of the original LEGO Ideas ECTO-1 from 2014, the 2020 version is the upgrade you’ve always wanted, and more. When a sequel comes along 36 years after the original, you normally have a level of expectation. The 2020 LEGO ECTO-1 measures over 8 (22.5cm) high, 18 (47cm) long and 6 (16.5cm) wide like all Cadillacs, the model is suitably long, making it the longest Creator Expert-scale vehicle yet. Every so often, there comes a set that has the chance to appeal to both older and younger demographics. Novemramblingbrick 18+ creator expert Lego ECTO-1, ghostbusters, Lego, Miniland, Review. If you look at the photo above, you can vaguely make out ‘Force 4 XL’ on the side of each light bar. LEGO® GhostBusters ECTO-1: Hands On Review.

The Kenner Classics Ecto-1 is perfect for those wanting to relive the glory days of Saturday morning cartoons and ghostly green juice boxes or those who want to introduce a new generation of fans to the toys. The ECTO-1 used 49 Code 3 Force 4 XL Lightbars front and rear with blue domes and 11 chrome center speaker housings. Here’s to one of the most iconic vehicles from the 80’s."It's a (proton) blast from the past with the GHOSTBUSTERS Kenner Classics Ecto-1 from Hasbro! Inspired by The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, with design and deco influenced by the toys from the 80s, the Kenner Classics Ecto-1 toy features moving wheels, an opening tailgate, a roof-mounted swivel blaster seat, and a deployable ghost claw so kids can imagine bustin' and capturing ghosts with the included ghost figure. I think I would’ve liked it better if the capture feature operated on a seperate winch instead being connected to the axel.

It’s a bit annoying since it is connected to the rear axel of the vehicle and once you’ve completely wound up the cable, the rear axel no longer turns (unless I’m totally wrong and there is a way to keep the axel free rolling). Thats not a 1959 Cadillac In that assessment, youd. The Ecto-1 was designed by Stephen Dane who also designed the many iconic gadgets including the Ghostbusters signature proton pack, the ghost trap, the P.K.E.

Last but not least the ghost capture gimmick. Of course were talking about Ecto- Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance from the Ghostbusters movie franchise. It’s a good thing the seat can be removed easily and isn’t permanently fixed with a “one-time only” connection. Personally I like the Ecto-1 without the roof seat. The vehicle can sit all 4 figures inside at once.

Over the years, a handful of that art has found its way into collectors’ hands, with Instagram user geeks. The pilot showed Ray sitting on the roof of the Ecto-1.Įcto-1’s dimensions span 13.75 x 5.5 x 8 inches (including the roof blaster seat). When it comes to the classic Real Ghostbusters toyline from Kenner, the packaging is arguably just as memorable as the action figures and playsets, featuring colorful hand-drawn art adorning purple card backs and boxes. The vehicle features a “swiveling blaster seat” on the roof, I think Kenner got this idea from the 3:50 minute pilot footage used to pitch the show to the network. Another option would be going after the Trendmasters version which is usually whiter in tone but it’s based off the Extreme Ghostbusters version and is smaller compared to the Kenner version. I’m not entirely sure how white the actual toy is supposed to be but I can see there’s a hint of yellowing happening to the toy. The Ecto-1 was pretty prominent on the show.
